Would you like to learn Spanish before beginning your volunteer project in Costa Rica? Then ask us about our Spanish group or private classes!
We are happy to organize private or group Spanish classes for you – before you begin your volunteer project.
We work with the best and most affordable Spanish schools in the country. Our Spanish school we work with is located in San Isidro del General, on the Pacific side of Costa Rica, in the Talamanca Mountain Range.
San Isidro is a beautiful area with a more moderate climate that is not as hot as on the coasts. At night it can even get pretty cold! The area is much safer than San Jose, and the people are from the “country side” and thus a little more open, friendly, and curious.
It doesn’t matter at what fluency level you are at, you can begin from scratch. You’ll be given an entrance test and be placed in a group accordingly. In most groups are only 3 – 6 students, but you can also request for private classes. There are always a lot of students at the school so you’ll never be alone!
All teachers at the school are native bi-lingual Costa Ricans with years of language teaching experience.
Groups are also welcome to do the Spanish classes! The Spanish school has lots of experience with school and university groups. Just ask us for availability and we’ll accommodate your group.
Accommodation, Food, and Transport
While staying at the language school, you’ll be living at a host family around San Isidro del General. All of the host families have years of experience hosting students, and they’re very happy to have you there. You will commute to class by bus normally, since San Isidro is a bigger city and distances are a little further and not walkable (note that bus fares are very cheap, less than $0.50, and are not included in the project fees).
